ED presented JDU MLC Radha Charan in MP-MLA court, sent to Beur jail for 14 days

Patna. JDU Legislative Councilor Radha Charan Seth, who was accused of illegal sand business and money laundering, has been sent to Beur jail. He will remain in jail under judicial custody for 14 days. After this he will be produced in the court. From where the Enforcement Directorate (ED) will try to take him on remand for questioning. ED had arrested Radha Charan Seth from Arrah on Wednesday after a raid that lasted for about 15 hours. After his arrest he was brought to Patna.

Seth’s lawyer said that he has many diseases, hence he should be kept in the medical ward.

According to ED sources, a special team of ED asked Radhacharan questions related to revenue theft and extortion of money from illegal sand business throughout the night. Meanwhile, Seth kept repeating that he was ill. Sources say that he would repeatedly ask for permission to go to the bathroom. The interrogation was done in installments for about 12 hours. After this, on Thursday afternoon, the team of ED officers reached the MP-MLA court with the arrested Seth. The court heard the matter carefully.

Radhacharan has many diseases

Before the court gave its verdict, the lawyer of the accused said that Radhacharan has many diseases and he is also having chest pain since last night. The lawyer’s request to the court was that instead of keeping him in the general ward of the jail, he should be kept in the medical ward. The ED lawyer did not oppose this demand. The court said in its order that the jail doctor will examine Radha Charan. If he has any kind of health related problem, then in that case he should be kept in the medical ward. The court ruled to keep him in judicial custody for 14 days.

ED also interrogated him for several hours

JDU MLC Radhacharan Sah was arrested by ED last Wednesday in the disproportionate assets case. Radhacharan was arrested from his farm house in Arrah, where the ED interrogated him for several hours. There are many allegations against Radhacharan Sah ranging from illegal trade of sand and tax evasion to acquiring wealth through wrong means. Regarding this, central agencies have raided the premises of JDU MLC several times. During the raid, many documents were also seized by the investigation team.

Son Kanhaiya was interrogated in ED office

Earlier, Radhacharan Sah and his son Kanhaiya were interrogated for several days in the ED office in Patna. After which the ED team arrested him from his farm house in Arrah on Wednesday. Radhacharan Sah was kept in the ED office in Patna overnight after his arrest. On Thursday morning, the ED team presented Radhacharan Sah in the MP-MLA court. From where the court sent JDU MLC to Beur jail in judicial custody.
