ED has called CM Hemant Soren today for questioning but the Chief Minister will go on Palamu tour

Ranchi: ED has fixed October 4 for questioning Chief Minister Hemant Soren in the land buying and selling case. This is the fifth case of summons being sent to the Chief Minister for questioning in the land matter. However, Chief Minister Hemant Soren will visit Palamu on October 4. There he will inaugurate the plant of Medha Dairy in Chianki. The capacity of this plant is 50 thousand liters per day. CM will go there around 1:00 pm and will return in the evening. Before this, ED has sent four summons to the CM.

In response to this, the Chief Minister had said that he would adopt the legal route. After this the Chief Minister filed a petition in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court rejected his petition, but gave him the freedom to file a petition in the High Court. After this, the Chief Minister has filed a petition in the High Court challenging the ED summons. At present this petition has not been heard in the court. The Chief Minister had requested the ED to wait till the court’s decision. Therefore, there is a possibility that in the light of the fifth summons, he will not appear before the ED officer for questioning even on October 4.

Hemant can appeal for early hearing today

An early hearing can be requested on Hemant Soren’s criminal writ petition challenging the validity of ED summons and sections 50 and 63 of PMLA. There is a possibility that on October 4, on behalf of Hemant Soren, his advocate will request for an early hearing of the petition in the Jharkhand High Court. Mr. Soren has filed a petition in the Jharkhand High Court on 23 September. In this, all the summons of ED and its powers have been challenged. A request has been made to stop ED from issuing summons.
