East Singhbhum: Collided from behind in a bad highway on NH-18, three killed

Three people died when another highway (JH-05, BD-7678) collided with another highway (JH-05, BR-9096) due to breakdown on NH-18 in Ghatshila police station area. One person was seriously injured. The incident happened on Tuesday (26 December) at around 1 o’clock in the night. Both highways were covered with sand. The police arrived as soon as the information was received. Two dead and one injured were taken to Ghatshila Sub-Divisional Hospital. At the same time, the body of the driver trapped in the cabin of the second car was brought out after a lot of effort. Vikas Karmakar (19), injured in the accident, is a resident of Batujhor in Rajnagar. He is undergoing treatment. The breakdown is being reported from Highway Baharagora.

The holy worker had gone to help a friend

Regarding the incident, Shatrughan Karmakar, father of the deceased Pavitra Karmakar, told that the son brought a chassis from Tata (Jamshedpur) at around 1 o’clock in the night. During this time it came to light that his friend’s highway laden with sand had broken down on NH-18. He went to show the torch for repairing the highway. During this time an accident happened. Driver Sanoj Karmakar and assistant Vikas Karmakar of the breakdown highway were busy repairing the vehicle.

Mourning in the family due to the death of only son

Shatrughan Karmakar told that his only son died in the incident. Everything of mine was destroyed. A mountain of sorrow has fallen on his family. The family members are in bad condition and crying. Pavitra’s house is near the incident site. His mother was calling him for food. He said that he will come back after showing the torch to his friend.

There was a traffic jam on NH for some time

After the incident, there was a jam on the NH for some time. The police removed both the accident-prone highways from the NH by calling for a crane. At the same time, the sand that had fallen on the NH from the highway was cleaned, so that an accident does not happen.

Dependents will get compensation from government provision: MLA

After receiving information about the incident, MLA Ramdas Soren reached Ghatshila Sub-Divisional Hospital. Information about the three people killed in the accident was taken from SDO Satyaveer Rajak, BDO Unika Sharma and police station incharge Vimal Kindo. The MLA said that the dependents will get the compensation prescribed by the central and state governments. Vehicle owners should also consider sympathetically. It is wrong for the relatives of the deceased to leave their homes and run away. Zilla Parishad member Karan Singh, Deputy Chief Gopal Krishna Aggarwal, Vikas Majumdar, Kajal Don, Durga Charan Murmu, Kali Pad Gorai, Kali Ram Sharma, Jagdish Bhakat were present on the occasion.
