It is believed that Lord Shri Ram had killed Ravana on the day of Vijayadashami. We can read the complete details of its background in Ramayana. We learn from various characters of Ramayana that victory is always won by truth, goodness, justice, honesty, loyalty and morality.

Prabhu Shriram

always behave decently and decently

Lord Shri Ram is called Maryada Purushottam, because he always behaved well and decently. Always supported the truth. Father Dashrath did not step back in fulfilling the promise given to mother Kaikai. Even though he had to suffer a lot for this.

Ravana

Without truth and goodness all is useless

Ravana was the owner of golden Lanka, was knowledgeable of Vedas and Puranas, had become invincible after receiving a boon from Mahadev. He had a huge army, but Ravana, alienated from truth and goodness, kidnapped Mother Sita by deceit. He was intoxicated with his ego, which became the cause of his untimely death.

Hanuman

Adopt the spirit of charity and kindness

Hanuman ji, who gave strength, intelligence and knowledge, became worshipable despite being born in the monkey dynasty and having a fickle mind. He was charitable and kind. When Lord Shri Ram was seen in trouble in the forest, he selflessly agreed to help him. For this he even risked his life.

Jatayu

Don’t be afraid of defeat when opposing wrong

We learn from Jatayu that we should always oppose what is wrong. The truth may be painful, yet it should not be abandoned. Jatayu knew very well that he would not be able to win over Ravana, but despite being old, he tried to stop the kidnapping of Mother Sita till the last moments.

Bharat and Lakshman

If your brother is in trouble, don’t leave him.

These two brothers set an ideal that if a brother is in trouble, he should never leave his side. One should protect the rights and property of the other brother. While Lakshman went to the forest with brother Ram, Bharat served the people of Ayodhya by placing his brother’s Charan Paduka on the throne.
