Due to severe heat in Jharkhand, there was a demand to close government-private schools, the department changed the time

The people of Jharkhand including Kolhan will not get respite from the heat for the time being. The havoc of heat will continue for the next three-four days. The maximum temperature of almost all the districts of the state will remain around 40 degree Celsius. Godda’s maximum temperature was 44 degree Celsius on Friday. The maximum temperature of Jamshedpur and Daltonganj was also close to 43 degree Celsius. At the same time, the maximum temperature of the capital Ranchi was 39.7 degree Celsius on Friday. According to the Meteorological Center, light to moderate rain may occur in many areas of the state from June 11. Only after June 15, people in the entire state are expecting a slight respite from the heat.

Changed time of government and all private schools

Kolhan Commissioner Manoj Kumar has ordered a change in the operating time of all government and all private schools in the three districts of Kolhan from Saturday till June 17, 203, due to the scorching heat of 43-44 degrees in Jamshedpur. Apart from schools, orders have been given to change the timings of Anganwadi centers. This order will be effective for one week from Saturday. Commissioner Mr. Kumar has sent the DCs of East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela Kharsawan districts on Friday itself to ensure compliance of the order, as well as to ensure mid-day meals in schools and nutritious food in Anganwadi centers. Here, Kolhan Commissioner Manoj Kumar said that parents of children of government and private schools and members of civil society were demanding change in the timings of the school due to the scorching heat and heat wave at present. For this reason a decision was taken in public interest.

Children were falling unconscious in the scorching heat

Let us tell you that after the summer vacation, all the government schools in East Singhbhum district were opened from June 5. Presently the schools were being operated from 7 am to 1 pm. On the other hand, since 11 am, the scorching sun had made life difficult for the people. Children coming to study in government schools walk one to two kilometers and come empty stomach in the morning. While they are getting heatstroke in the sudden hot sun, they are also fainting in the class room itself. On Friday, a seventh student of Bhalubasa Harijan High School suddenly fainted. Immediately its information was given to Principal Arun Kumar Singh. He gave first aid to the student, after which she regained consciousness.

In view of the seriousness of the condition of young children, the Primary Teachers Association, through a memorandum to District Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav and Health cum Disaster and Management Department Minister Banna Gupta, demanded to extend the summer vacation till the onset of monsoon. Also said that if the schools are not closed, then at least allow the school to be operational till 10 am only, so that the health of the children can be protected.
