Dudhwa Tiger Reserve: The committee submitted the report to the government regarding the death of tigers, the forest minister said this big thing

Lucknow: The investigation report of the death of 4 tigers between April and June in Dudhwa Tiger Reserve has been submitted to the government. The investigation report says that two tigers died in a mutual conflict. Two tigers died due to infection. After the order of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the government had constituted an inquiry committee. This committee completed the investigation and submitted its report to the government. In its report, the committee has linked the deaths of tigers to ‘infighting’ between the animals. Following the death of the tigers, the DTR field director as well as several other forest officials were transferred from their respective posts.

Four tiger deaths probed between April 21 and June 9

This year, between April 21 and June 9, the death of four tigers was reported to the government. After this, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had ordered a high-level inquiry. Uttar Pradesh’s Forest Minister Arun Saxena is leading the investigation team formed to investigate the death of the tigers. The minister said that he had reached the DTR after getting information about the death. Mainly the matter of monitoring and patrolling of tigers came to the fore. The committee found in the investigation that no irregularities were found anywhere. The tigers died due to ‘infighting’ between the animals.

Forest guards for surveillance and patrolling

The committee has suggested the need for forest guards for surveillance and patrolling to avoid such incidents. Claimed that 70% of the sanctioned posts of forest guards are vacant while 50% posts of foresters are also vacant. Recently, on June 9, the death of a two-year-old tigress was reported. Although he died on 3 June. Earlier, a four-year-old tiger died on May 31 and a two-year-old tiger died on April 21. The government has also taken on record the statements of forest officials and local people during the investigation of these deaths.
