Gumla, Durjay Paswan: Drug trade is also flourishing in Gumla district. Police of Raidih police station of the district have arrested 3 suppliers with brown sugar. Lakhan Kumar of Gumla city, Deepak Oraon of Shahitoli and Mohd Shabbir Shaikh of West Bengal have been arrested by the police. 1.440 grams of brown sugar, 3 mobile phones, a scooter and a bike have been recovered from these people.
Police took action against drug smugglers based on secret information
Chainpur subdivision’s SDPO Amita Lakra gave this information on Wednesday (27 March) by calling a press conference at Raidih police station. SDPO said that the police had received secret information that two boys were going from Gumla towards Raidih carrying packets of brown sugar on a motorcycle and a scooter.

After receiving the information, Gumla Superintendent of Police (SP) Gumla immediately formed a raid team under the leadership of Chainpur Sub-Divisional Police Officer. Taking immediate action, the raid team started patrolling from Bhalmanda to Narotoli Road and Bakhtar Sai Chowk to Basudev Kona Road to arrest drug smugglers.
When police signaled to stop, drug smugglers started running away
Then a motorcycle rider and a scooter rider were seen coming from Bhalmanda to Narotoli via Vasudev Kona Road. When the police signaled them to stop, they started running away. Police personnel ran and caught both of them.

1.440 grams of brown sugar and other items recovered
After being caught, these drug smugglers were investigated and 1.440 grams of brown sugar and other similar items were recovered from them. On the information of those people, brown sugar dealer Lakhan Kumar of Gumla city was arrested. Caught suppliers Deepak Oraon and Mohd Shabbir Shaikh told that they used to buy drugs from Gumla’s brown sugar dealer Lakhan Kumar. After this, they used to earn profits by selling it to the youth of Raidih area.
