About 1300 years ago, the journey of Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya was completed only when he came to Kashi and discussed the scriptures with the scholars. He said that Kashi Vidvat Parishad was established here 250 years ago. This council has been continuously active. The decision of this council is universally accepted regarding any scripture written in Sanskrit language. In accordance with the tradition of such a social knowledge center, the teachers and students of this university should also continuously enrich the pride of their institution.

Kashi city, timeless heritage of Indian culture

President Draupadi Murmu said that there is a strong popular belief that Kashi is the oldest continuously existing city of the world. Kashi, a city blessed by Baba Vishwanath and Mother Ganga, has been attracting everyone and will continue to do so. The President said that he remembers that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi had chosen Varanasi as his constituency, he had also said that Mother Ganga has called me. The President said that just as Mother Ganga is the life stream of Indian culture and the carrier of Indian knowledge, spirituality and faith, in the same way the city of Kashi is a timeless heritage of Indian culture.

The feeling of respect for the freedom struggle behind the name of Kashi Vidyapeeth

President Draupadi Murmu said that the members of the first Board of Management of Kashi Vidyapeeth included history makers like Mahatma Gandhi, Lala Lajpat Rai, Jamnalal Bajaj, Jawaharlal Nehru, Acharya Narendra Dev and Purushottam Das Tandon. Scholars like Acharya Narendra Dev, Dr. Sampurnanand etc. will always be remembered in the list of extraordinary teachers here. The President said that the intention behind naming the Kashi Vidyapeeth, which was built with Indian resources and away from the help and control of the British rule, as Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, is to express respect for the ideals of our freedom struggle.

President Draupadi Murmu said – Kashi Vidyapeeth is a living symbol of non-cooperation movement.

President Draupadi Murmu, in her address at the convocation ceremony of Kashi Vidyapeeth, said that while inaugurating this Vidyapeeth on 10 February 1921, Mahatma Gandhi had said that we should not take education in all the government schools. We cannot live under a flag which our students are forced to salute. He said that if we open schools then education will automatically become sacred. He said that this university, as an institution born out of the non-cooperation movement, is a living symbol of our great freedom struggle.

73 people got PhD degree

Out of total 73 people who have received PhD degree, 43 are men and 30 are women. Along with this, a deleted title is being awarded. Siddhant Seth and Anjali Patel are also being awarded gold medals as the best male and female players of the university in the current session. This time too, girl students are ahead in terms of winning gold medals.

Gold medals for 65 meritorious students, girls won

A total of 65 meritorious girl students are being awarded gold medals in the 45th convocation of Kashi Vidyapeeth Historical University, which has completed a glorious journey of a century. These include 14 boys and 51 girls. In the session 2022-23, degrees are being awarded to 6589 students at the undergraduate level and 12529 students at the postgraduate level.
