Dohrighat-Indara Railway Line: Train operation has not started even after cost of Rs 250 crore, speed trial has been done

Gorakhpur: Whether it is the apathy of the railway administration or incomplete construction, not a single train has been able to run on the Dohrighat-Indara railway line built at a cost of Rs 250 crore. Even after the inspection and speed trial by the Railway Conservation Commissioner (CRS) on March 31, people are still waiting for the train on this track. After inspection and speed trial by Railway Protection Commission, CRS had given permission to run the train at a maximum speed of 75 kilometers per hour by running the train at a speed of 90. Even after more than five months, thousands of people in the area are still waiting for trains to run on this track.

35 kilometer railway line laid at a cost of Rs 250 crore

A 35 kilometer railway line was laid on the Dohrighat-Indara railway line route at a cost of Rs 250 crore. The Railway Protection Commissioner had also inspected the 35 kilometer long railway line and conducted a speed trial on 31 March 2023. It is being told that the railway line has definitely been laid. But, the construction has not been completed yet. For this reason, even after the completion of electrification, CRS had conducted speed trials of the rail line with a diesel engine train, whereas according to the guidelines of the Railway Board, the new rail line has to be laid capable of a speed of 160 kilometers per hour. But, on this line, even CRS trains ran at a speed of 90 kilometers per hour. During the inspection of CRS, they had given permission to run trains at the speed of 60 kilometers per hour at some places and 70 kilometers per hour at some places on this route. The railway administration hastily got the railway line of this route inspected. But, haven’t been able to run the train yet.

The structure of the buildings is ready but the platform is not ready.

As a result, the situation is that animals are roaming freely on the railway line and children are playing on the tracks. The situation is that only structures of buildings have been constructed at Kopaganj, Ghosi, Amila, Muradpur and Dohrighat stations. Even the platform has not been ready yet. Proper arrangements for ticket counter control panel system, passenger seating arrangement, waiting room, water supply and passenger facilities have not been made. Level crossing gates of Indian Railways are being closed on a war scale. But, bypassing all the rules, 6 contact gates have been opened on this route.

Ghosi Sangharsh Committee wrote a letter to the Railway Ministry and the Board

There are electrical wires hanging over the railway lines on this route. But, electricity has not yet flowed in it. The indifference of the railway administration regarding this new railway line is raising questions. There is a lot of anger among the people due to the delay in running of the train. Ghosi Sangharsh Committee has also written a letter to the Railway Ministry and the Board. In this matter, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Eastern Railway, Pankaj Kumar Singh said that the incomplete construction work on this route will be completed soon. There is a proposal to operate the train. Trains will also start running on Dohrighat-Indara railway line soon.

These people will get benefits

With the operation of trains on Doharighat-Indara railway route, the journey of thousands of people of Mau, Kopa, Ghosi, Badhalganj, Hata and Gola of Gorakhpur will become easier. People of Dakshinanchal region of Gorakhpur have to travel a distance of 50 to 60 kilometers to reach Gorakhpur to catch the train. Once the train starts operating on this route, they will reach Varanasi and Prayagraj in a short time.
