Lucknow : Crores of Indians are celebrating Diwali, the festival of lights. People are lighting sparklers to celebrate Diwali, one of the most important festivals of the country. Houses are decorated with lights and bursting crackers. Lakshmi Ganesh was worshiped in every house. Enjoyed the festive meal. Not only this, sweets were distributed among neighbors and friends. The atmosphere is pleasant with a feeling of happiness and sparkling houses. Illuminated their homes with small oil and ghee lamps and paper lanterns to celebrate the victory of good over evil, light over darkness and happiness over sorrow. Outdoor spaces decorated with vibrant rangolis – designs made of colored powder. It should be noted that the dates of Diwali change every year and are determined by the position of the moon, but it usually falls between October and November. This year Diwali is being celebrated on Sunday. In the days leading up to the festival, people flocked to shops to buy festive clothes, devotional items and gifts for family and friends.

To celebrate Diwali in Lucknow, Police Commissioner Lucknow IPS SB Shirodkar reached out to orphan children. Police Commissioner celebrated Diwali with small children at Shri Ram Industrial Orphanage Children’s Home and distributed sweets and gifts to them.
