Crores of rupees in cash have been recovered in income tax raids at various locations in Jharkhand and Odisha of a business group linked to Congress Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Sahu. During an interview on Friday, MP Shri Sahu has presented his side in this matter in front of the media for the first time. He said the money recovered by the Income Tax belonged to a business related to his family. It has nothing to do with Congress or any other political party. At the same time, on BJP’s claims that the recovered money was ‘black money’, Mr. Sahu said that this will be decided by the Income Tax Department. All things will become clear when time comes. MP Shri Sahu said- Although I had joined politics in the year 1977 itself, but I have been in active politics for 30-35 years. My elder brother Shiv Prasad Sahu was MP of Ranchi twice. My father late Baldev Sahu was a great social worker. He always helped the poor. Our family did many development works in Ranchi, Lohardaga and Odisha. Opened many schools and colleges. I want to clarify that the money that has been seized belongs to a firm related to my family. Our family has been running the liquor business for more than 100 years. During this period we have also given a lot of revenue to the government. Despite this, this incident of Income Tax raid happened to me for the first time, which deeply hurt my heart. I was in Delhi then. At that time also I wanted to express my views before the media, but due to shyness I did not come forward.
