The situation remained tense on Tuesday also due to a bloody clash between supporters of MLA Dhulu Mahato and BJP leader Ragini Singh in Ekra of Loyabad police station area. Yashwant Singh, nephew of Sunil Rai, a supporter of MLA Dhulu Mahato, who was injured in the incident, is undergoing treatment in Durgapur. His condition is said to be serious. Sujit Kevat, injured from the other side, is undergoing treatment at SNMMCH. Other injured from both sides are also undergoing treatment. In view of the situation, the police is camping in Acre. Even after a day of the incident, no complaint has been made by any party to the police. Injured Anil Paswan and Parasnath Rai reached Loyabad police station and lodged a verbal complaint with the police about the assault.

After the clash between supporters of MLA Dhulu Mahato and BJP leader Ragini Singh in Akra on Monday night at 8.30 pm, people are hesitant in saying anything openly. The area comes under Baghmara assembly constituency, due to which MLA supporters are active, but Ragini supporters have also become active. There was tension between both the sides for 20 to 25 days. During Chhath, when a banner with the photo of MLA Dhulu Mahato was put up at Torandwar, the other party had protested saying that the donations had become public, so why was the photo of any one leader being put in the banner.
Round of allegations and counter-allegations continues
Baghmara MLA Dhulu Mahato’s supporter Sunil Rai said on phone from Durgapur that when his nephew was going to Loyabad to bring medicines, Ragini Singh’s supporters Satendra Kewat and Sujit Kewat surrounded him and attacked him with swords. The nephew’s condition is critical. He has a serious injury on his head. The operation has taken place. The doctor is not ready to say anything yet. He did not say for what reason he attacked.
Allegation of molestation at Chhath Ghat
BJP leader Ragini Singh’s supporter Satendra Kevat told on phone that some people of number 14 Basudevpur were molesting girls while offering Arghya at Chhath Ghat. Our family members had protested. An attempt was made to take revenge for this in the evening. We were attacked twice near our house and hotel. My nephew Sujit’s head got injured in this. When we intervened, we were also attacked, resulting in head injuries.
