Dhanbad: Fish trader shot dead in Tundi

Fish trader Vijay Mandal (55), resident of Charakkhurd in Tundi police station area, was shot dead by criminals on Sunday night. According to SNMMCH doctors, Vijay was shot twice. One bullet hit his neck and the other bullet hit his chest. Postmortem of the dead body will take place on Monday. Tundi police has started investigating the murder case. Police said that the body of Vijay Mandal was found near Karitand village of Western Tundi at around 7.30 pm on Sunday night. According to the villagers of Karitand, criminals riding a bike opened fire on them. Vijay Mandal started screaming after being shot. When the people of the village moved forward, the criminals riding the bike pointed pistols at them. Seeing this the villagers ran away from there. After the criminals riding the bike left, a local person identified Vijay Mandal. He informed Vijay’s family and Tundi police. Tundi police station reached the spot and took Vijay to SNMMCH. After investigation the doctors declared him dead.

Motorcycle, mobile and money were missing

Dinesh Mandal, son of Vijay Mandal, told that at around 2 pm on Sunday afternoon, his father had gone to Jhinaki Hatia on his motorcycle JH 10Z 9695 for business purposes. In the evening, he got the information that he was shot dead by criminals riding a bike. Police said that there was no motorcycle at the place where the body was found. Nor did he have a mobile phone. According to Dinesh, Vijay was returning home with the money collected from selling fish. No money has been received from them. According to Tundi police, Vijay Mandal had left on his motorcycle. But no motorcycle was recovered from the dead body. Mobile phone and money are also missing. Tundi police station in-charge Anil Kujur, who reached SNMMCH, has expressed the possibility of murder for robbery.
