Devotees throng Someshwarnath Dham on Nag Panchami, performed Jalabhishek of Mahadev with 1.25 lakh liters of water

Motihari. On the seventh Monday of the month of Sawan and on the occasion of Nag Panchami, the temple premises and the entire fair area reverberated with the slogans of Bol Bam since late night. In view of the crowd of devotees, in the presence of the temple management and subdivision administration, after the first worship, the curtain was opened at 2.30 pm. As soon as the curtains were opened, the devotees chanted ‘Bol Bam, Har Har Mahadev’ and started worshiping by performing water abhishek in the Argha. On the seventh Monday, about two and a half lakh devotees of Shiva performed Jalabhishek in the Someshwarnath Mahadev temple till late evening. Since morning, the subdivision administration, temple management, NCC cadets and social workers were ready for the comfort and convenience of the devotees of Lord Shiva.

Shiva devotees queued up since early morning

The queue of Shiva devotees had reached the Barwan Hanuman temple early in the morning. The route line was resonating with the echo of these Shiva devotees in the Shravani fair. All the devotees were moving forward in a queue chanting Baba Someshwarnath. On the other hand, the facilities and security arrangements of the devotees in the routeline were continuously being monitored by SDM Sanjeev Kumar, SDPO Ranjan Kumar, BDO Amit Kumar Pandey and other officers from the night itself. On the seventh Monday and seeing the crowd of Shiva devotees, women and men devotees started sitting in queues waiting for the doors of the temple to open from around 12 o’clock on Sunday night.

Jalabhishek continued till late evening

Devotees were marching ahead with water pots in their hands, chanting ‘Bol Bam’. At 10 am, there was a break of half an hour for Raag Bhog. After the break, the door was opened again for offering water to the devotees. After that suddenly the crowd of devotees started increasing unexpectedly, which continued till late evening. For Jalabhishek, there was a separate Argha arrangement for male and female devotees. Water offering was being done through Argha near both the doors of the sanctum sanctorum. Dancing to various Bhojpuri songs on DJ, thousands of women, men and children riding on tractors and on foot carrying water from different rivers were entering Shivnagari for Jalabhishek, which continued till late evening.

Thousands of devotees queued up late night

Thousands of devotees queued up late on Sunday night. Above the queue of devotees, arrangements were made for live darshan to see the shed, fan, devotee standing in the queue. At the same time, arrangements were made in the control room including lost and found room, medical unit, ambulance. In view of the traffic arrangement and the crowd of devotees in the Mela area, control rooms, fix and drop gates were made at one and a half dozen places. Magistrates and police officers present in the control room were seen helping the devotees along with stopping the entry of vehicles in the city.

Health department team was fully ready

Apart from the three-layer security system, plainclothes police officers were also seen patrolling the encampment sites. In the control room, under the instructions of Colonel Dr. Ujjwal Pratap, Sub-Divisional Hospital Deputy Superintendent, the health department team was fully prepared. The subdivision administration and the temple management have estimated that till late evening of Monday, more than two lakh devotees performed Jalabhishek of Baba Someshwarnath Mahadev with about 1.25 lakh liters of water.
