In fact, a few days ago, there was a dispute over some issue between Pramod Singh Baghel, a resident of Ahirauli Baghel of Bankata police station area adjacent to the Bihar border of the district, and Prabhakar Mishra, who lives near the Rampur Buzurg check post. On Tuesday, BJP leader Pramod Singh along with local workers reached Bankata police station and was preparing an application for filing an FIR in this matter.
Meanwhile, the police of Phulwaria police station of Gopalganj district of Bihar arrived and identified Pramod Singh and handcuffed him. The workers accompanying the BJP leader were stunned by this sudden sequence of events. Everyone protested against the arrest. When Pramod protested, Bihar Police and Bankata Police showed arrogance and the workers started walking away from there.
The police of Phulwaria police station arrested the BJP leader. Regarding the arrest, BJP leader Pramod Singh Baghel said that the liquor smuggling racket in Bihar has implicated him in a rivalry. At the same time, Phulwaria police station incharge of Gopalganj district, Abdul Majeed said that a large consignment of liquor was recovered in Bolero on June 22 in Majirwa of the police station area. The arrested smugglers had told that Pramod Singh Baghel, resident of Ahirauli Baghel, stores liquor in the border area and sends it to Bihar from there.
Constable dies after being hit by Scorpio while on duty in Deoria
On Wednesday morning in Bhatni police station area, on the information of liquor smuggling, a constable who had gone to catch smugglers at the barrier near Keravania bridge, died after being hit by a car. After the incident, a wave of mourning ran among the police personnel of the district.
Actually, Mahanand Yadav (28 years old), son of Dev Narayan, resident of Harivallabhpur village of Jamnia police station area of Ghazipur district, was working as a constable in UP Police. These days he was posted at Bhatni police station. On Tuesday night, his duty was at the barrier on Keravania bridge of Ghanti Bazar police post. He was doing duty at the barrier along with home guard Shashibhushan.
At 3 am on Wednesday morning, a high speed Scorpio was seen coming from Khampar. The constable and the home guard tried to stop him by putting up a barrier, but the speeding Scorpio crushed the constable. While fleeing, the Scorpio got stuck in the barrier and stopped. When the vehicle did not start, the passengers got down and ran away.
Bhatni police reached the spot and sent the body of the constable for postmortem. They have seized the vehicle and are searching for its owner. There was an outcry in Vallabhpur of Ghazipur on the news of the death of the constable. Parents and other family members left for Bhatni. Police Station Head Dr. Mahendra Kumar said that the constable died after being hit by a speeding Scorpio while closing the barrier. The vehicle has been seized and the driver is being searched.
Pickup full of devotees overturns, 12 women including driver injured
