Deoghar: Women are ahead in filing cases in court, 1052 cases registered in 320 days

Law correspondent, Deoghar: 1711 complaint letters have been filed in the Judicial Board, Deoghar from January 2023 to November 13, 2023 i.e. in 320 days. This includes cases of Civil Court Deoghar and Sub-Divisional Civil Court Madhupur. The cases filed include 1347 cases in CJM’s court Deoghar and 364 cases in SDJM Madhupur’s court. 241 cases have been disposed of in Deoghar, while 87 cases have been disposed of in Madhupur. The number of women in the complaint cases filed in the court is 797 in Deoghar and 255 in Madhupur. This means that more cases have been filed by women than men. If we look at the nature of the cases, most of them are of dowry harassment. Apart from this, there are molestation, assault, murderous attack, kidnapping, rape, witchcraft torture, Dalit torture, POCSO Act, cyber fraud, taking obscene pictures and making them viral on social sites, theft, snatching, looting, arson etc.

Separate courts have been set up to register cases

Generally, those people take refuge in the court, whose complaints are not heard in the police station. Frustrated, they take refuge in the court and hope for justice. Complaints are filed in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate in Civil Court Deoghar, while cases are filed in the court of SDJM Madhupur in Sub-Divisional Civil Court Madhupur. Apart from these two courts, powers have been given to Special Court ADJ I for Dalit atrocities cases, Special Court ADJ II for Cyber ​​Fraud and IT Act cases and Special Court ADJ III for POCSO Act cases. Aggrieved parties file their complaints in these courts with the sole desire to get justice. Although most of the cases are kept for hearing in the court itself, but serious cases are sent to the concerned police station for registering FIR and investigation. An affidavit is filed by those filing the case, in which it has to be mentioned that no action has been taken on their applications at the administrative level, hence they are filing the case in the court. Looking at the data of 320 days, it becomes clear that more than one thousand cases have been registered only by women. Women are more intellectually and legally aware, that is why they go out of the box and take refuge in the court to punish those who commit crimes against them. Of the registered cases, 241 cases have been executed in Deoghar and 87 in Madhupur. To put it in other words, there has been a settlement in a total of 328 cases. Out of these, 196 women in Deoghar and 56 in Madhupur i.e. a total of 252 women have withdrawn their cases.
