Deoghar: Railways took a big step towards passenger safety, now CCTV cameras will be installed in coaches.

Deoghar: Many steps are being taken by the Railways for the safety of trains and railway passengers. Under this, a special equipment will be installed in the train engine. Besides, CCTV cameras are being installed in every bogie of the train. In this regard, Eastern Railway’s CPRO Kaushik Mitra said that like the black boxes installed in planes, the Railways has also started the work of installing the special equipment CVVRS in the cabin of the loco pilot. This will provide complete information about the train accident. He said that in an important step towards enhancing passenger security, Railways has announced installation of CCTV cameras in train coaches in addition to the existing surveillance at important railway stations. This step reflects the unwavering commitment of Indian Railways to ensure safe and secure travel for its passengers. After monitoring CCTV cameras in railway stations, now the initiative has been started to cover the train coaches with additional security cover through CCTV monitoring. Regarding this, arrangements are being made to install CCTV cameras in the train coaches.

Like planes, now special equipment will be installed in train engines too

Indian Railways has already planned to install CCTV cameras in about 75 thousand coaches. Apart from this, approval has also been given for installation of CVVRS (Crew Voice and Video Recording System) in about 15 thousand engines of Indian Railways. This will provide complete reports about train accidents. All CCTV cameras will be as per the latest RDSO (Research Design and Standards Organisation), so that the security surveillance system is high-tech in nature. Also, annual maintenance will be done by Railway Information System Center on contract. Installation of CCTV cameras in train bogies will promote a safe environment. This will prevent potential hazards and ensure the safety of passengers during their journey. There will be surveillance from headquarters level regarding the safety of passengers traveling in trains and railways through cameras. The use of CCTV technology will enable real-time monitoring of train bogies, promoting quick response to any emergency and providing timely assistance to passengers in need.

In case of any untoward incident in trains, CCTV footage will help in investigation and investigation will also be possible at the right time. This will help authorities identify and report any security breaches or misconduct.
