Deoghar: Baba Baidyanath’s tilak will be offered on Basant Panchami on Wednesday. According to tradition, on this day, after worshiping Tilakharue Baba and offering Gulal to each other, the Tilakharuas from Mithila apply Gulal to each other. So far, more than one lakh Tilakharuas have reached Babadham to participate in Baba’s Tilakotsav. On Wednesday evening, Tilak Puja will be organized by Baba Mandir on the verandah of Lakshmi Narayan Temple. At the same time, Tilak Puja will be performed by following the tradition of offering Gulal to Baba in Shringaar Puja. Here, Tilakharue Baba who came from Mithila is staying in various areas of the city including around the temple. According to the information, till now only about 40 percent of Tilakharuas have reached Babanagari and the remaining devotees will reach Deoghar by Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. Those people who have come to Deoghar are staying under the open sky at their respective stopping places waiting for Basant Panchami. They perform puja throughout the day and offer ghee to Baba at night. Besides, having a communal meal, everyone gets engrossed in Baba’s bhajans and kirtans.
About 80 thousand devotees worshiped in Baba temple on Monday.
Before Basant Panchami, a crowd of Tilakharus and other devotees is gathering to worship in the Baba temple. A huge crowd was seen as soon as the doors opened early in the morning. The chants of Har Har Mahadev and Har Ho Bhola are resonating everywhere. By the time the doors opened, the queue of Kanwariyas had reached outside the Q complex. During this time, it was taking three to four hours for the Kanwariyas to perform the puja from the general queue. Tight security arrangements have been made everywhere. A large crowd was also seen offering the Pooja with Speedy Darshanam coupons. At the rate of Rs 250 per coupon, 4430 people took coupons and offered water. Around 80 thousand Kanwariyas offered water till the curtain was closed.
