Deoghar: On Makar Sankranti, sesame laddus were offered to Baba, special worship was done.

Deoghar: On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, as per tradition, special worship of Baba Baidyanath was done. Sesame seeds laddu was offered to Baba Vaidyanath in the morning. Special worship of Baba will be done from Makar Sankranti on the fifth day of Shukla Paksha till Kumbh Sankranti on the fifth day of Shukla Paksha of Magh month. For a month, sesame laddus and specially prepared khichdi will be offered every day in the afternoon. Special bhog will be prepared by the Shringari family in Maa Durga Mandap. On Monday, Uday Shringari of the Shringari family prepared Khichdi as bhog. At around 2.30 pm, it was offered in the name of Baba Baidyanath in the Shriyantra temple located in the temple administrative building. After offering Bhog, Prasad was distributed among the devotees. On Monday morning the doors of the temple opened at around 4:10 am. Sardar Panda Gulab Nand Ojha entered the sanctum sanctorum and started the special worship of Baba. Sardar puja started after offering Kancha water on Baba. After the conclusion of Sardari Puja, the door was opened for the devotees. From early morning, devotees started reaching the Baba temple complex after taking a dip in Shiv Ganga. The devotees were allowed to enter the Baba Mandir sanctum sanctorum through the Sanskar Mandap from the entry queue complex at Mansarovar. Till the curtain was closed, about 50 thousand devotees offered prayers and wished them well.

Baba reached DC on Makar Sankranti and inspected the temple

On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, Temple Administrator cum Deoghar DC Vishal Sagar reached Baba Baidyanath Temple early in the morning and took stock of the security arrangements and law and order. During this, DC gave necessary instructions to the concerned officials regarding cleanliness and garbage collection in Baba Mandir and surrounding areas along with queue water offering. During the inspection, while talking to the magistrates and security forces personnel posted in the areas surrounding the temple along with law and order and security arrangements, he asked them to behave politely with the devotees. Regarding Sankranti, magistrates and police officers were instructed to remain active at their respective deputed places with full alertness and caution. During the inspection, instructions were given to the concerned officials to keep the temple premises free from encroachment. District Statistics Officer Kamlesh Kumar, Temple Manager Ramesh Parihast, Magistrate deputed at the temple, police officers etc. were present on the occasion.
