In the data shared in the written reply, the corporation also said that the cases reported in September are the highest in this month in the last four years. The data has been released for the first time after August 5. Data on dengue, malaria and chikungunya were shared on August 5.
Dengue cases have increased manifold in the last years
It is noteworthy that there has been a huge increase in dengue cases in the capital Delhi this year. Compared to previous years, dengue cases have increased at a record level this year. According to media reports, till September last year, 185 cases of dengue were confirmed in Delhi. At the same time, this year this number has increased to around 2700. At the same time, many people have also died due to dengue.
Dengue patients increased due to flood
It is noteworthy that with the onset of monsoon there was heavy rain in Delhi. There was flood in low-lying areas of Delhi. At the same time, Yamuna water also started flowing on the roads. Due to this, the number of mosquitoes and mosquito-borne diseases increased significantly. In fact, every year the rains in Delhi also bring with it the gift of diseases. Dengue and mosquito borne diseases increase significantly during the rainy season. This time, there has been a significant increase in the problem of malaria and dengue due to waterlogging caused by floods and heavy rains in Yamuna.
DEN-2 variant of dengue increases concern in Ghaziabad
According to a report in Hindustan Times, DEN-2 variants of dengue have been found in Ghaziabad, NCR. Actually, samples of 50 patients with dengue symptoms were sent to Lucknow for genome sequencing. Of these, 5 patients were confirmed to be infected with DEN-2 variant of dengue. Let us tell you, four variants of dengue have emerged – DEN-1, DEN-2, DEN-3, DEN-4. Among these, DEN-2 is the most infectious.
