Dengue havoc is not stopping in Bihar, 9 new infected people were found in Muzaffarpur and 5 in Jehanabad.

Muzaffarpur. The number of dengue patients has started increasing in the district. Now six to ten patients are being received every day. During dengue investigation at SKMCH on Friday, dengue was confirmed in 9 new cases. Both dengue and chikungunya were found in one patient. District Vector Borne Disease Control Officer Dr. Satish Kumar has confirmed this. So far 177 dengue patients have been found in the district. District Vector Borne Disease Control Officer said that a total of 9 dengue patients have been found in the district in the laboratory test. Patients admitted for treatment in SKMCH and private hospitals are being monitored.

Dengue patients confirmed even in private hospitals

He said that dengue patients are being confirmed even in private hospitals. His blood sample is being taken and sent to the laboratory for ELISA test. As soon as the patient was found, all the PHCs were alerted. Fogging is being done around a hundred houses where the patient’s house is. Along with this, spraying of drug to kill larvae is being done at the places where there is water logging. Medicine spraying machines are available in all PHCs. Vector Borne Disease Control Officer said that a microplan has been prepared for the city.

Wherever dengue patients are found, the same health department is conducting spraying.

In the rural areas of the district, the health department is conducting spraying around the houses where dengue patients are being found. Where patients have not been found and there is water logging, the health department is not carrying out spraying. In such a situation, dengue mosquitoes are breeding due to accumulation of rain water. These mosquitoes are spreading disease. People are falling ill and reaching the hospital. People are making their own arrangements to ensure that dengue mosquitoes do not breed in rain water. Because dengue mosquito larvae breed only in clean water.

Dengue havoc continues in Jehanabad, five new patients found again

Dengue continues to wreak havoc in Jehanabad district. Dengue mosquitoes are catching new people. In the latest case, again five new patients have been found. Of these, two patients have been found in Kako police station area, while one dengue patient each has been found in Hulsganj, Okri and IGIMS. With this, the number of dengue patients in the district has now increased to 48. However, among these, the number of patients is more who were studying or doing some work outside the district or state. To prevent dengue, separate dengue wards have been created in all the government hospitals of the district including Sadar Hospital.

Dengue ward of 10 beds in Sadar Hospital

A 10-bed dengue ward has been made in Sadar Hospital. The facility of testing dengue with kits is available in all the hospitals including Sadar Hospital, whereas the facility of ELIZA test has been made available in Sadar Hospital in the month of September. However, the number of dengue patients treated in private clinics is many times more than the officially declared number. According to an estimate, more than 200 dengue patients have been treated so far in the private clinics of the district.

Private clinics do not provide information

There is a huge difference in the number of dengue patients at the government and private levels. Despite this, information about dengue patients coming for treatment in private clinics of the district is not being given to the health department. Following the instructions of District Magistrate Richie Pandey, the Civil Surgeon held a meeting of private testing houses and instructed them to give information about the patients found dengue positive in their testing kits to the nearest government hospital or Civil Surgeon office. However, even in this the private investigation house operators are negligent.

There are fewer patients compared to last year

Compared to last year, this year there is a decrease in the number of patients affected by dengue in the district. Last year, people were suffering from dengue on a large scale. Although this year also the effect of dengue is there in the district, but it is less as compared to last year. This year, no death has been reported so far due to dengue, whereas last year, patients affected by dengue had also died.

What do civil surgeons say?

Civil Surgeon Dr. Sada Khatoon Usmani says that there is complete preparation to deal with dengue in the district. Dengue wards have been made in all PHCs including Sadar Hospital. All medicines related to dengue patients are available. Fogging is being done in the affected areas.
