Demonstration of students continues with black flag in protest against the incident of student’s death in Jadavpur University

Protests are continuing at various places in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, demanding a fair probe into the death of Jadavpur University (JU) student Swapnadeep Kundu and a ragging-free campus. It may be noted that the AIDSO State Committee had today called for a student-parent sit-in program outside all the universities of the state. AIDSO West Bengal State Committee Secretary Vishwajit Rai said that the tragic death of first year student Swapnadeep Kundu has shocked the people of the state. Extreme mental and physical torture of ragging on Swapnadeep was going on for many days in the main hostel of the university. There are incidents of ragging with junior students in the hostels of medical colleges and universities of the state including JU, but the authorities are indifferent instead of taking strict action in this regard. In such a situation, there is a need to identify and punish those involved in this murder through a fair investigation.

Students demand ragging free campus

Jadavpur University as well as other girl students’ committees continue to protest continuously. They demand that There should be a ragging free campus so that the students coming here can study. And the criminals of Swapnadeep Kundu should be punished at the earliest. Demonstration of students and teachers is going on on the streets of Kolkata today regarding various demands.
