Delhi: Youth electrocuted while running on treadmill in gym, police arrested gym owner

Man Died Due To Electric Shock : A 24-year-old man died of electrocution while running on a treadmill at a gym in Sector-15 of Delhi’s Rohini on Thursday. Giving information about the matter, the police said that during the investigation of the incident, the alleged accused Anubhav Duggal has been arrested. At the same time, the police had also told after the incident that the gym owner was initially taken into custody.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Gurikbal Singh Sidhu said that the police had received information from Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital about the death of Saksham, resident of Rohini Sector-19. He further told that Saksham was brought unconscious from a gym in Rohini Sector-15. Investigation revealed that he died of electrocution while running on a treadmill in the gym. The DCP said that a case has been registered under section 287 and section 304A of the Indian Penal Code.

Engineer in multinational company was capable

After the incident Mahesh Kumar, the father of the deceased youth Saksham while giving information about the son said that my son Saksham was an engineer in a multinational company. I got a call from the gym this morning that he has fainted, the other two people in the gym said he must have got electrocuted. When the police investigated, it was found in the CCTV camera that he got electrocuted due to high current in the machine. At the same time, he said that in this case we want the owner to be arrested and given the strictest punishment.

Further action in the matter continues

Police registered a case after this incident and started investigation. During the initial investigation, he took the gym owner into custody and interrogated him. After further investigation, the Delhi Police has arrested the alleged accused gym owner in this case and is interrogating him. Police said that further action is going on in this matter.

Case registered on the basis of medico-legal case and post mortem report

At the same time, while giving information about the incident, a senior police officer said that he was last seen using a treadmill in the gym and he got an electric shock during exercise. He also told that on the basis of medico-legal case and post mortem report, we have registered a case against the gym owners and management. The deceased used to work in a company in Gurgaon. The accused has been identified as gym manager Anubhav Duggal.
