delhi services bill: After the Lok Sabha, the Delhi Services Bill was also passed in the Rajya Sabha. After a heated debate, the Upper House approved the bill on Monday. Due to malfunction of the automatic voting machine, voting was done by slip. 131 votes were cast in favor and 102 in opposition. The bill will now go for approval from the President, after that it will become a law.
Meanwhile, in the Rajya Sabha on Monday, five members of the ruling party raised strong objections to the proposal of Aam Aadmi Party member Raghav Chadha to send the ‘Delhi National Capital Territory Governance Amendment Bill 2023’ to the Select Committee and said that with their consent Without putting their names in the motion, the matter should be referred to the Committee of Privileges. Meanwhile, raising the question of order, Home Minister Amit Shah said that two members of the House are saying that their names were put in the motion without their consent and they do not have their signatures on the motion. Shah said that this is a matter of investigation. This matter is no longer just about forgery in Delhi. It seems to be a case of forgery inside the House. Home Minister Amit Shah was seen talking about getting the statements of both the members recorded and getting the matter investigated.
Sasmit Patra of Biju Janata Dal said that his consent was not taken for keeping his name in the select committee. He said that this is a matter of breach of privilege. On this, Deputy Chairman Harivansh said that four-five members have said that they have not sent their names to the committee and it will be investigated. AIADMK’s M Thambidurai said that he too has not signed the resolution.

Senior Congress member Abhishek Singhvi accused the government of trying to make ‘Super CM’ in Delhi through this.
What’s in this bill: This bill is related to the transfer and posting of officers in the capital Delhi. After this bill becomes law, the Lieutenant Governor will get the right to take decisions related to transfer and posting of officers. This will replace the ordinance brought in May this year.
