[ad_1]

A Delhi court on Friday rejected the bail application of former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia in a money laundering case related to excise policy. On Thursday, Sisodia’s bail plea was also rejected in the CBI case related to excise policy.

Not an appropriate time to grant bail – Court

Special Judge M.K. Nagpal refused to grant relief to Sisodia, saying it was not an opportune time to grant him bail. The judge had reserved the order after hearing arguments on Sisodia’s plea, which claimed that his custody was no longer required for investigation. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had opposed the plea and said the probe was at a “critical” stage.

ED said enough evidence against Sisodia

The federal agency had also said that it had found fresh evidence of their complicity in the alleged crime. The court had on March 31 rejected the bail plea of former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in a case registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) over alleged corruption in the excise policy.
