ED issues 9th summons to Kejriwal, called for questioning on March 21

ED has issued the 9th summons to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and asked him to appear before it on March 21. ED has asked Kejriwal to appear for questioning under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Arvind Kejriwal has ignored ED’s summons calling it illegal.

The case pertains to alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi government’s excise policy for 2021-22. This controversial policy was later canceled. Following the recommendation of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered an FIR in the alleged corruption case and on the basis of this, the ED started investigating the money laundering charges.

ED claims Kavita paid Rs 100 crore to AAP leaders

ED has claimed that BRS leader K Kavitha had paid Rs 100 crore to Aam Aadmi Party leaders. However, AAP has rejected ED’s claim. Aam Aadmi Party leader and minister in Delhi government Atishi accused ED of becoming a political weapon. Atishi alleged that the aim of the ED is to stop Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal from campaigning in the Lok Sabha elections.
