The CBI arrested Sisodia on February 26 after several rounds of questioning in connection with alleged corruption in the now-cancelled Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22.
On CBI’s plea, the court said, Sisodia played a major role in the criminal conspiracy
Dealing with the aspect of criminal conspiracy and referring to the CBI’s representation on the investigation carried out so far, the judge had said that Sisodia had “played the most important and major role in the criminal conspiracy and was responsible for ensuring the achievement of the objectives of the said conspiracy”. He was prominently involved in the formulation and implementation of the said policy for .Thus, as per the allegations leveled by the prosecution and the evidence collected so far in support of the same, the applicant can be prima facie considered to be the mastermind of the said criminal conspiracy.
