Delhi Excise Policy Case: ED arrested Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi Excise Policy Case: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday night in a money laundering case related to excise policy. He was arrested hours after the Delhi High Court refused to grant relief to Kejriwal from any punitive action by the agency. This is the first case of arrest of a Chief Minister while in office. Soon after the High Court order, an ED team reached his residence and conducted a search. After this Kejriwal was arrested.

Before the arrest of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goyal, who reached the CM residence, had said that even if Kejriwal is arrested, he will not resign. The government will run from jail. The speaker said, everyone knows that Manish Sisodia was arrested but nothing was found. More than 600 people have been arrested so far.
