Delhi Excise Policy Case: CBI had interrogated K Kavita in Tihar Jail.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday interrogated BRS leader K Kavita in Tihar Central Jail in a corruption case related to the Delhi Excise Policy scam. Kavita is lodged in Tihar jail in a money laundering case related to the alleged scam. On April 5, the court had given permission to CBI to interrogate Kavita in jail. Kavita has challenged that order.
CBI told the court about Kavita’s interrogation
The CBI informed Special Judge for ED and CBI cases Kaveri Baweja that following the court order, it interrogated Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) Kavita on April 6. The central investigating agency made this plea in response to the application filed by advocate Nitish Rana, appearing for Kavita, in the context of CBI’s petition requesting judicial custody interrogation.
Hearing on Kavita’s petition on April 26
CBI told the court that it has already interrogated Kavita, hence it will not file any reply on her application. Rana, however, told the court that he would like to present his arguments on Kavita’s application against the CBI petition. The next hearing in this case will be on April 26.
