Muzaffarpur. The interrogation of notorious interstate gangster Ramnaresh Sahni, known as Ravana of Sahebganj, who was caught by Delhi Crime Branch, has been completed. Crime Branch’s Additional Commissioner of Police Sanjay Bhatia has disclosed the entire action taken in Delhi on Tuesday. In the information given to the media persons, he has told that there are many cases against gangster Ramnaresh Sahni, resident of Sahebganj in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar, in four states including Bihar, Gujarat, Delhi, including murder, robbery, extortion, kidnapping for ransom, NDPS, Liquor Act. More than 25 criminal cases are registered under serious sections.
Ravana was arrested recently
The police team under the leadership of Crime Branch DSP Amit Goyal had recently arrested Ramnaresh Sahni from Motipur police station area of ​​Muzaffarpur. After taking transit remand from the court, he was brought to Delhi. Here he was being interrogated on remand from the court. He was also a declared fugitive criminal in a case under the NDPS Act of Delhi. He is known as “Ravana of Sahebganj” in the region of North Bihar.

During the interrogation of Delhi Crime Branch, Ram Naresh Sahni has told that in the year 2005, on the day of Dussehra of Durga Puja, he along with three more of his associates had killed a person named Kumod in Surat, Gujarat. This murder became famous by the name of Kumod massacre. After the murder, Ramnaresh had fled from there with his friends. Later he was declared a fugitive in the said case. After this, he was arrested on 25.03.2012 in SOS Delhi with 29.400 kg of ganja. A case was registered against him under NDPS Act. Later, during the hearing on 10.07.2013, he got interim bail for the marriage of his daughter. He gave up interim bail. Since then he was continuously absconding.
More than 50 members in the gang
On 10.07.2014, accused Ramnaresh Sahni was declared a proclaimed offender by the court. The team was not able to arrest him due to frequent changes in his mobile number, appearance and location. After this, on 05.01.2024, a team of SI Brijpal, HC Joginder, Sawai Singh, Gaurav and CT Monu was formed and sent for raids. The team stayed in Muzaffarpur for several days and collected confidential information about him. It was revealed that the accused Ram Naresh Sahni is a notorious criminal. Presently he is also active in the liquor business. He is known as Ravana of Sahebganj. He has a gang in the area, which has more than 50 members.

Notorious Ramnaresh Sahni has told Delhi Crime Branch officials that he entered the world of crime in 2006. After that he was continuously committing crimes. He has acquired a lot of money and property through illegal means. The first FIR against him was registered in the year 2005. After this, a case was registered in Surat, Gujarat under the sections of murder and attempt to murder. In 2005, he committed another murder in Sahebganj, Muzaffarpur, Bihar. He had built an empire through his criminal activities.
