Delhi: Air is poisonous, GRAP-4 implemented, schools closed, 50 percent people working from home, ban on entry of these vehicles.

Delhi Pollution: In view of the serious situation of pollution in Delhi, the Air Quality Management Commission has implemented GRPA-4. Actually, the Central Government has taken this decision due to the air quality index in Delhi-NCR being in the very serious category. Under this, a ban has been imposed on construction work and entry of polluting trucks and four-wheeler commercial vehicles in Delhi today i.e. on Sunday. Let us tell you, the CAQM sub-committee has implemented phase-four of GRAP after taking action under phases one, two and three to prevent further deterioration in air quality.

emergency measures implemented
Let us tell you that pollution has increased significantly in the National Capital Region and neighboring areas. The Air Quality Management Commission, the statutory body formulating the strategy to deal with this, has asked the states of Delhi and NCR to implement all emergency measures. Under these measures, instructions for 50 percent of the employees in government and private offices to work from home are also included.

Restrictions on entry into the capital

  • Under the fourth phase of GRAP, only CNG, Electric and BS-IV will be imported from other states.

    Vehicles following six standards will be allowed to enter Delhi.
    Vehicles involved in essential services have been exempted from this.

  • Ban on entry of all medium and heavy goods vehicles not involved in essential services.

  • Earlier on Thursday, the pollution control body had ordered a ban on non-essential construction work and specific categories of pollution-causing vehicles.

  • The Delhi government has also announced the closure of all primary schools till November 10 in an effort to protect young children from this dangerous pollution.

Air quality is bad in Haryana and Rajasthan also
Amid adverse weather conditions in Delhi and increase in stubble burning incidents in neighboring states, AQI was recorded at 463 at 3 pm on Sunday, which was 415 at 4 pm on Saturday. This serious problem of air pollution is not limited only to Delhi, but the air quality has reached dangerous levels in many cities of the neighboring states of Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
