Deepotsav will be celebrated by the temple committee by lighting 1,101 lamps on January 22 at Ram Mandir (Agrasen Smriti Bhawan) in Ghatshila. At the same time, many religious programs will be organized on this occasion. Bhajan-kirtan will also be organised.

History

The construction of Ghatshila Ram Temple started in the year 1956 and was completed in 1957. The temple was consecrated on March 29, 1958. After this, this temple became the center of faith of the surrounding people. Special programs are organized in the temple on occasions like Ram Navami etc.

In the Ram temple, the idols of Lord Shri Ram, brother Lakshman and Mother Sita are about four feet high. The idol of Hanuman is also installed here. Shivalinga is installed in Ram temple for the worship of Lord Shiva. Those who come to worship in the temple also worship Lord Shiva. Ram temple spread over a large area has its own distinct specialty. The idol installed in Ram temple has been brought from Jaipur.

Sanjay Aggarwal, President of Ram Mandir Committee Ghatshila said that a grand program will be organized in Ram Mandir on 22 January. The temple committee is busy in preparations. 1,101 lamps will be lit. There will be a program of bhajan and kirtan. Prasad will be distributed after the puja.

Ramesh Sharma, priest of Ram Mandir, Ghatshila, said that Marwari community has an important role in the construction of Ram Mandir. Marwari community collected donations and built the temple. Earlier my father was a temple priest. At present I am the priest of Ram temple.
