The news of the death of Khalistani terrorist Lakhbir Singh Rode, who was hiding in Pakistan, is coming to light. In this regard, Indian Express has published news according to which Lakhbir Singh Rode, the self-proclaimed chief of Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) and International Sikh Youth Federation, one of the banned organizations, has died. He was 72 years old. He was the nephew of Khalistani terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale. Talking about terrorist Lakhbir Singh Rode, he was listed as a ‘terrorist’ under UA(P) after which he fled to Pakistan. Lakhbir Singh’s brother and former Akal Takht Jathedar Jasbir Singh Rode confirmed his death.

Last rites performed in Pakistan

Jasbir Singh told The Indian Express that I was informed by the son of my brother Lakhbir Singh Rode that he died of a heart attack in Pakistan. His last rites have been performed there. He was a sugar patient. His two sons, a daughter and wife live in Canada. Lakhbir Singh’s native village was Moga, he initially fled to Dubai. Later he took refuge in Pakistan. He kept his family in Canada only. In 2002, India had submitted a list of 20 terrorists to Pakistan and demanded their extradition.

Why was terrorist Lakhbir Singh so dangerous?

According to the documents available with the Central Government regarding Lakhbir Singh, ISYF was active at various places in the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada and the United States. Lakhbir Singh allegedly works to carry out terrorist activities in Punjab. Not only this, he has been sending consignments of weapons and explosives from across the border to India to target many VVIPs and political leaders.

Earlier this year, the NIA had seized a piece of land from Lakhbir Singh in Kothe Gurupura village of Moga.
