Ranchi: Hilarius Kachhap, accused by ED in the Badagai land scam, died due to illness in RIMS on Tuesday. The charge sheet was filed against him by ED 10 days ago. Hilarius, who lived behind DAV School in Bariatu, had damaged both his kidneys. On Tuesday, he was admitted to RIMS, where he died during dialysis. On Wednesday, his last rites were performed at the cemetery located at Bharam Toli in Bariatu. During this time many people gathered to donate soil. Before this, prayers were organized at Don Bosco Church located in Bariatu. He has left behind two daughters and a son. According to family members, Hilarius was suffering from high BP and diabetes. At the same time, he was in trouble due to damage to both his kidneys.
It is noteworthy that on March 30, ED had filed a charge sheet against five people after investigating 8.86 acres of land in Bargai area. This included the names of former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Vinod Singh, revenue employee Bhanu Pratap Prasad, Rajkumar Pahan and Hilarius Kachhap. ED had accused Hilarius of helping Hemant Soren in taking over 8.86 acres of land in Bargai area. ED had written in the charge sheet filed in the PMLA court that the electricity meter on 8.86 acres of land occupied by Hemant Soren was installed in the name of Hilarius Kachhap. He was the one who had built a boundary wall with stone on this land. He also looked after this land.

My health had worsened after my name appeared in the ED case: Salem
Ranchi. Hilarius Kachhap’s relative Salem told that after his name came in the ED case, he started living under more stress. Due to stress, his health became worse than before. His BP and sugar had increased significantly since 15 days. His kidney was already bad, due to increase in sugar, he started having more kidney problems. His health worsened further on Tuesday. He was taken to RIMS where he died during dialysis.
