DC SP conducted surprise inspection in JP Central Jail, Hazaribagh

Shankar Prasad, Hazaribagh: A surprise inspection was conducted at JP Central in Hazaribagh on Thursday morning under the leadership of DC Nancy Sahay and SP Arvind Kumar Singh. This action was taken in view of the security of the Lok Sabha elections. Seven magistrates, police officers and more than one hundred police personnel searched all the wards in the jail for one and a half hours. During this period, inspection was conducted at prisoner ward, hospital, canteen, barracks and other places.

No dangerous items were found

According to the police, there is no information about any deadly material being found in the prisoners’ ward and other places in the jail. SP Arvind Kumar Singh said that no objectionable material was found during the surprise inspection. He told that in view of the security of Lok Sabha elections, a surprise inspection was conducted in the jail. During this time it was also observed that the security arrangements of the jail were not proper. For this, footage of all the CCTV cameras installed in the jail was viewed.

Scrutiny of duty roster of officers and personnel working in jail

Apart from this, the duty roster of the officers and personnel working in the jail was also scrutinized. At the same time, photographs of the family members who had come to meet the prisoners a week ago were also seen through CCTV cameras. DC Nancy Sahay, SP Arvind Kumar Singh, Sadar SDO Shailesh Kumar, Sadar SDPO, Headquarters DSP, Sadar police station in-charge, Muffasil police station in-charge, Karra police station in-charge and other police personnel were present in this inspection.
