Dayamani Barla: Jharkhand agitators Dayamani Barla and Pushpa Tete joined Congress along with their supporters.

Ranchi: Jharkhand agitators Dayamani Barla and Pushpa Tete joined the Congress along with their supporters on Friday. State Congress in-charge Ghulam Ahmed Mir and State Congress President Rajesh Thakur welcomed him by giving him the party belt and garlanding him. Ghulam Ahmed Mir said that both the women leaders have always been struggling as the voice of the last person in the society. His movement for water, forest and land has created a distinct identity.

Movement started to give direction to the society
State Congress President Rajesh Thakur said that the movement launched to give direction to the society is a reflection of the capabilities of both the leaders. Dayamani Barla said that today all sections of the country including farmers, youth and women are going through problems. BJP is trying to snatch away the freedom of the common people. Initially, I started the struggle for the rights of the people by using my pen as a weapon. After that, for the last 30 years, I have been continuously fighting for the exploitation of labourers, poor and tribals and to protect water, forests, land and environment. I did not shy away from going to jail even during the struggle. Today, the way all sections of the country, including farmers, young women, are facing problems, such a situation never existed during the Congress rule. At that time everyone had the freedom to express their views and today efforts are being made to snatch away the freedom of the common people of the country. Inspired by Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, I have decided to join Congress. The way he has communicated with every section of the society from Kanyakumari to Kashmir during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, listening to their problems and trying to understand their problems. That is the identity of a leader connected to the public. Considering the current situation in the country, Pushpa Tete had to take the decision to join Congress.

After joining BJP, Geeta Koda said: Congress does appeasement politics, was feeling uncomfortable
