Daughters of late CDS General Bipin Rawat arrived on the last day of Pitru Paksha, performed Pinda Daan for the salvation of their parents.

On the last day of the 17-day Pitru Paksha Mela held at the pilgrimage site Gayaji from 28th September, devotees who came from different states of the country to pray for the peace and salvation of the souls of their ancestors, offered Pinda Daan and Tarpan. In this series, on Saturday, Pitru Shraddha and Pind Daan were performed in Gaya for the salvation of the country’s first Chief of Defense General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat. General Bipin Rawat and Madhulika Rawat’s elder daughter Kritika Rawat, younger daughter Tarini Rawat, General Rawat’s brother retired Colonel Vijay Rawat, Madhulika Rawat’s brother Yashvardhan Singh and his wife Sapna Singh had come to perform Pind Daan. In this way, Shraddha and Pind Daan have been performed by the family in Gaya to wish for the death of General Bipin Rawat and Madhulika Rawat.

After one and a half years, the family members have reached Gaya ji to offer Pind Daan to General Bipin Rawat and Madhulika Rawat, wishing for their salvation.

Yashvardhan Singh, brother of Bipin Rawat’s wife Madhulika Rawat, told that the MI 17 helicopter had crashed on 8 December 2021 in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. General Vipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat were killed in this helicopter. Wishing for his salvation, all our family members have reached Gaya to perform Pind Daan. How did Vipin Rawat die?

On 8 December 2021, General Bipin Rawat was going to Wellington, Tamil Nadu for his tour in an Air Force Mi-17 V5 helicopter. The helicopter took off from Sulur Air Base at 11:48 AM and was scheduled to land in Wellington at 12:15 AM. But the air traffic control of Sulur Air Base lost its contact at 12:08 am and it crashed in Coonoor. There were 14 people in this helicopter including General Vipin Rawat and his wife. Out of which 13 people died. General Vepin Rawat was 63 years old when this accident happened. He was appointed the country’s first Chief of Defense in January 2020.
