Dahu accused of illegal mining did not get bail, Supreme Court said to surrender in 2 weeks

The Supreme Court has refused to grant bail to Sahibganj illegal mining accused Rajesh Yadav alias Dahu Yadav. Along with this, he has been directed to surrender in the court of special judge of PMLA within two weeks. ED had issued summons to Dahu Yadav for questioning during the investigation of Sahibganj illegal mining case. Because, during preliminary investigation and raids, evidence was found against him of his involvement in criminal cases other than illegal mining.

He appeared in the light of summons issued by ED. After the interrogation on the first day, he sought time from IDI in the name of ill health of the family members and went missing. Despite repeated summons by ED, he did not appear for questioning. After this, on the request of ED, the PMLA court issued a non-bailable warrant against him.

The ED handed over the warrant to the local police, but he could not be caught by the police. While absconding, he filed an anticipatory bail petition, which was rejected by the High Court. Later he filed a petition in the Supreme Court. However, the Supreme Court also refused to grant him bail after the hearing.
