DA Hike in Bihar: Nitish government increased dearness allowance of employees in Bihar by 4 percent

Nitish government has increased the dearness allowance of employees in Bihar by four percent. After this decision of the government, the government employees of the state will get 46 percent dearness allowance instead of 42 percent. The increased dearness allowance will be available from July 1, 2023. Nitish government of Bihar approved it in the cabinet on Wednesday. This is being considered as a big gift to the state employees and pension holders. Preparations for this were being done a long time ago by the Finance Department of Bihar Government. It was being said that the government was going to give it before Diwali. For some reason this could not happen then. But, after Chhath, Nitish cabinet gave its approval to it.

After this decision of the cabinet, about 11 lakh working government employees and pension holders of Bihar will get the benefit. Let us tell you that earlier 42 percent dearness allowance was given. After this increase of four percent, dearness allowance became 46%. There are more than 4.5 lakh state employees and about 6 lakh pension holders in Bihar. All of them are currently getting the benefit of the seventh pay scale. But till now the state employees and pension holders were getting only 42 percent DA.

Ever since the central government increased the dearness allowance of central employees by four percent on October 18 this year, it was being speculated that the DA of state employees and pensioners would increase in Bihar too. Nitish government put its seal of approval on this today. Even before this, in the month of April 2023 itself, the Bihar government had increased the dearness allowance of state employees and pension holders by four percent. With this increase, dearness allowance increased from 38 percent to 42 percent.
