Cyclonic storm ‘Midhili’ ready to hit Bangladesh coast, there will be heavy rain in these states

Bhubaneswar/Kolkata: The deep depression over the Bay of Bengal turned into a cyclonic storm on Friday and with a maximum speed of 80 kmph, it is likely to pass through the Sundarbans before reaching the Bangladesh coast. In the bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), it has been said that cyclonic storm ‘Midhili’ can cross the Bangladesh coast on the night of 17 November or the morning of 18 November. The Meteorological Department issued a warning on Friday asking fishermen not to venture into the sea near the Bay of North Bengal and West Bengal coasts till November 18.

Deep pressure area turns into moderate storm

The Meteorological Department said that the deep depression over the North Bay of Bengal has transformed into Cyclonic Storm Midhili and is moving in a north-northeast direction, about 200 km south-southeast of coastal Digha in West Bengal. And is 220 km southeast of Kheupada in Bangladesh. The department said it is expected to move north-northeast and may cross the Bangladesh coast near Kheuppara on the night of November 17 or morning of November 18 with winds reaching 60 to 80 km per hour.

The countries affected by the cyclones of the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal give the names of the cyclones in a sequence one by one. Odisha orders to remain vigilant

IMD says that there is little chance of cyclone ‘Midhili’ having any major impact on Odisha, as it will pass 150 kilometers above the state’s coast. However, IMD scientist Umashankar Das said that some districts like Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur are expected to receive heavy rain on Friday. Meanwhile, the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) of Odisha has asked all district officials to remain vigilant in view of the cyclone. SRC Satyavrat Sahu said that we do not want to be negligent of any kind and vigilance is being taken.

The weather office said that there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in the coastal districts of West Bengal East Medinipur, South 24 Parganas and North 24 Parganas on Friday. It said that due to this weather activity, very heavy rains are expected in the northeastern states of Mizoram and Tripura, Nagaland, Manipur, South Assam and East Meghalaya from Friday till Saturday. For the second time during this season, a deep pressure area has formed. According to weather forecaster Skymet, stormy weather and heavy rain is expected in some coastal places of Odisha and West Bengal like Satpara, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Baleshwar, Baripada, Digha, Contai, Diamond Harbour, Haldia, Nandigram and South 24 Parganas. There is doubt. The meteorologist said that Medinipur, Howrah and Kolkata will maintain a relatively safe distance from the center of the depression. However, there is a possibility of cloudy sky with moderate or light rain.

The Meteorological Department has predicted wind speed ranging from 35-45 km per hour to 55 km per hour over Tamil Nadu as well as South West Bay of Bengal on Thursday. It has also predicted gale force winds with a speed of 40-50 km per hour and gusting to 60 km per hour along the coasts of Andhra, Odisha and West Bengal.
