Cyclone Mocha expected to hit Bangladesh-Myanmar coasts on May 12
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday that the cyclone is expected to move initially north-northwestwards by the morning of May 12 and later move towards Bangladesh-Myanmar coasts.

The department said fishermen and operators of small vessels, boats and fishing boats are advised not to venture into southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining central Bay of Bengal from Tuesday. The weather office has also asked people present in East-Central Bay and North Andaman Sea to return from the sea during the day itself.
Mocha cyclone expected on May 10
The low-pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal and Bengal and adjoining south Andaman Sea is very likely to intensify into a depression by today evening and thereafter over southeast Bay of Bengal on May 10, the bulletin said. And it can take the form of a cyclonic storm in the east-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of the Andaman Sea.
Heavy rain expected in Andaman and Nicobar Islands
The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain at most places and heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands from Tuesday to Thursday.
