So that no one has to face the problem of drinking water. On the other hand, experts are raising the question that at present 1.22 lakh houses in the city have water connections. But, these houses are not being provided adequate supply of water by the drinking water department. In such a situation, when 2.09 lakh houses will be given water connections, then where will the water come from?

This is the condition of water supply in the city

According to Ranchi Municipal Corporation, the total number of water connection holders in the city is 1.22 lakh. At present, the condition of these water connection holders is such that sometimes water comes for half an hour and sometimes for one hour in a day. There is no fixed time table for supply water in areas like Thadpakhana, Tiril Road, Islam Nagar, Chutiya etc. For this reason, people stay awake at many places to fill water. The condition of many areas including Indrapuri, Bargain, Kokar in Ratu Road is such that if water comes here one day, then there is no water for the next two days.

Work is going on on these plans

At present, to provide water to all the houses in the city, JUDCO is laying more than 800 km of distribution and rising pipelines at a cost of Rs 1200 crore. This work has been entrusted to L&T, Nagarjuna Construction and Jindal Company.

Water towers are being constructed at 14 places

To ensure that water reaches every house, water towers are being constructed at 14 places in the city. Out of these, the construction work of Patel Park, Guava Garden, Bakri Bazaar, Pahari Mandir, Banhora One and Two, Madhukam, Pandara, Police Line, Bada Talab and Jalminar near Cipet is in the final stage. At the same time, due to non-availability of land in Hindpiri, the construction work of the water tower has not started.

What is the condition of dams?

In the year 2016, when there was severe heat in the capital, rationing was started from Hatiya Dam. During this period, water was supplied from the dam every alternate day. At the same time, due to lack of water supply, water was supplied to the affected localities through corporation tankers. Then people had demanded cleaning of the dams and removal of silt. But till now silt has not been removed from even a single dam.
