crime news A rural doctor was shot dead by armed criminals late on Thursday night in Pipra village of police station area located on Belaganj-Khijrasarai road in Gaya district of Bihar. Regarding the incident, the villagers told that 56 year old Niranjan Verma, resident of Pipra, was a village doctor by profession. Was sleeping in his house situated on the roadside. During that time, around 10:30 in the night, the family heard the sound of gunshot.
The family members who reached the spot found Niranjan Verma dead, soaked in blood. Here, as soon as the information about the incident was received, DSP Law and Order Khurshid Alam, who was conducting raids in Chakand area, and the police of Belaganj police station reached there and investigated. Two bullet marks were found in the arm and chest of Niranjan Verma. During the investigation, the police recovered two shells from the incident site and started investigating the reasons related to the incident.
Here, the police team brought the dead body of the village doctor to the police station. At the same time, people told the DSP that this incident happened due to a dispute. His two sons had died in a road accident a year ago. Only the widowed younger daughter-in-law and Niranjan Verma lived in the house. Then the raid took place throughout the night under the leadership of DSP. During this time, three people resident of Nandubigha village have been arrested. Apart from this, the police team raided many places till 5 in the morning. Then the senior police officers returned from the incident area at six in the morning and conducted the post-mortem of the body from Magadh Medical College on Friday and handed it over to the family members.

DSP Law and Order Khurshid Alam said that according to the information received so far, some people were having a dispute with Niranjan Verma. At present three people have been arrested on that basis. Also, a special team of Belaganj police station has been formed to provide scientific evidence in this murder case. Two shells have also been recovered from the incident site. Based on the statement of the victim’s family, a case has been registered and further action is being taken.
