The number of a gang member was also made available to the committee. On Friday, a team of six members of the District Child Welfare Committee and five officials of the city police station was formed. The formed team reached near the Sadar Hospital gate at around 11 o’clock, where the women’s team looked at the goods at the stalls selling bangles, bindis and other make-up items for about one and a half hour. Then when I talked to the received number, two women came. The women were told that they wanted a child.

Then the women, talking about money, offered to sell the one-day-old baby girl to the policemen. During this time the police took him into custody. Those detained include two women and a young man, whom the police are interrogating. In the same rescue, District Child Welfare Committee Raj Kumar Singh Assistant Director, members Priya Bhardwaj, Asrar Ahmed and Shakti Srivastava, Vishal Kumar and Shailesh Kumar, city police station officers Rakesh Kumar and Akanksha Kumari, Kumari Sanjukta Chaudhary lady constable were involved in the rescue.

During interrogation, the detained woman told that her sister was about to give birth, who is Lakshmi Devi, a resident of Kanpur. She came to my house two months ago, where she was delivered in a private hospital. In which he got a daughter. He already has four daughters. That’s why he said that he should give this girl to someone. So I gave it to the girl. However, during interrogation, the woman was repeatedly changing her statement to the police.

The deal was done for Rs 40 thousand
During the conversation, the detained woman told that the price of the girl was fixed at Rs 40 thousand. However, we were not aware that the person we were dealing with was the police. After this incident, various types of discussions are going on in the area. After the recovery of the girl, she was treated by a doctor and handed over to the district adoption home.
