Google has celebrated this occasion with an animated doodle. In the Google Doodle, two ducks are shown running between the wickets in the presence of spectators in the background. By clicking on the doodle on the Google homepage, the complete schedule of the tournament appears in front of the users. The first match of the International Cricket Council World Cup 2023 (ICC World Cup 2023) will start at 2 pm today at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The Cricket World Cup, which takes place every four years, is one of the world’s leading, most watched and most popular One Day International (ODI) cricket matches. The tournament sees 10 teams compete for the coveted cup. This year marks the 13th edition of the World Cup since its inception in 1975. And it is a matter of happiness that it is India’s turn to host this biggest match of ICC.
The ICC World Cup is starting from today and the first match will be played between defending champion England and runner-up New Zealand. 45 matches will be played in the group stage, in which each team will have to face all the teams once. Apart from India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Australia, England, Netherlands, New Zealand and South Africa are participating in the tournament this year.
