With this, the number of deaths due to Corona virus infection in the state has increased to 72060 in the last three years.

Health Minister issued statement
However, State Health Minister Veena George says that despite the increase in Covid-19 cases in Kerala, there is no cause for concern as the state is well prepared to deal with cases of infection. He said that we have found that there has been a slight increase in the number of COVID cases. He said that the number of tests in Kerala is much higher than other states. The situation is completely under control. We have to expect more cases as surveillance conducted at Singapore airport shows that 19 passengers from India were found with JN1.

Sub-variant JN.1 is increasing the threat

Why JN.1 has increased concern
The new variant of Corona JN.1 has increased the concern. So far, 26 cases of JN.1 sub-variant have been reported in India. Of these cases, 19 were found in Goa, four in Rajasthan and one each in Kerala, Delhi and Maharashtra. At the same time, JN.1 is spreading rapidly in many countries of the world. According to a Bloomberg report, almost one in every 24 people in European countries like England and Scotland is infected with Covid-19.
