Court News: Simdega and Gumla convicts get life imprisonment, Bokaro and Koderma convicts get punishment

Court News: The wife, convicted of raping a minor in Simdega and killing her husband in Gumla, was sentenced to life imprisonment. At the same time, in Bokaro, the convict of rape has been sentenced to 20 years and in Koderma, two convicts have been sentenced to seven years each in the Arms Act case.

Simdega: Life imprisonment for raping a minor

The court of Simdega District and Additional Sessions Judge cum Special Judge Asha Devi Bhatt sentenced life imprisonment to the convict of raping a minor and also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000. Apart from this, he was also sentenced to five years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 for threatening the victim. However, both the sentences will run concurrently. It was told that on December 30, 2022, an eight-year-old girl had gone to study at the Madrasa in Kolebira. In this sequence, Imam Mo Animuddin Ansari, who was teaching the children in the madrasa, carried out the incident of raping the girl by showing her the fear of jinn. After the incident, the girl went to her home and informed about the incident to her family members. After which the girl’s father lodged a case against Imam Mo Animuddin Ansari in Kolebira police station. After this, while registering a case under the POCSO Act in the police station, the accused was arrested and sent to jail. While hearing the case, the court pronounced the sentence after hearing the statements of 16 witnesses and the arguments of both the sides. In this case, Public Prosecutor in-charge Amit Kumar Srivastava presented arguments from the prosecution side.

Gumla: Wife convicted of killing her husband, sentenced to life imprisonment, fined Rs 50,000

Gumla’s ADJ-One Durgesh Chandra Awasthi’s court sentenced life imprisonment under section 302 to his wife Asha Tirkey in connection with the murder of Rajesh Tirkey, resident of Khatkhor Mahadev Nagar, Raidih police station. At the same time, a fine of Rs 50 thousand was also imposed on the guilty wife. Failure to pay the fine may result in additional imprisonment for two years. A total of nine witnesses testified in this case. In which Additional Public Prosecutor Mohammad Javed Hussain advocated on behalf of the government side. The incident is of February 15, 2023. On the day of the incident, Asha Tirkey attacked and killed her husband Rajesh Tirkey with a leg. After which Asha Tirkey lodged an FIR against unknown criminals, while engaging the police in the murder case. At the same time, during the police investigation, it was found that Rajesh was murdered by his wife.

Bokaro: Rape convict gets 20 years imprisonment

ADJ-3 POCSO Special Rajeev Ranjan’s court conducted the final hearing on Friday in the case of raping a 13-year-old girl of Balidih police station area under Bokaro district by taking her to her home in Jamtara. After hearing the evidence and witnesses, the court convicted the accused Amlesh Tudu (22 years), a resident of Tarni Tola Chatatand, Jamtara and sentenced him to 20 years. The sentence was pronounced under section-6 of the POCSO Act. At the same time, a fine of Rs 10,000 was also imposed. In default of payment of fine, additional six months simple imprisonment will have to be served. Apart from this, seven years rigorous imprisonment has been sentenced under section 366A. In this also a fine of five thousand rupees has been imposed. In default of payment of fine, the convict will undergo simple imprisonment for an additional three months. All the sentences will run concurrently.

Jamtara had taken the victim guilty

In this regard, Public Prosecutor Birendra Kumar said that on July 7, 2022, an FIR was lodged at Balidih police station on the complaint of the victim’s mother. The girl was missing since July 2. The relatives were searching for the girl. He could not find anything. In such a situation, the missing information was given to the police on July 3. During this, the family came to know that the convict had taken his daughter with him to Jamtara.

The victim had complained of having a physical relationship

As soon as the information about the victim’s presence in Jamtara was received, the Balidih police went to Jamtara and recovered the girl. During this, the accused was also taken into custody and brought to Balidih. While taking action, the police sent him to jail. At the same time, in her statement given in the court, the girl had complained of forcibly having physical relations. Here, after the hearing of the sentence, the convict was sent to Chas Jail.

Koderma: Two convicted including Bablu Rai in Arms Act, sentenced to seven years each

Koderma’s Additional District and Sessions Judge III Tarun Kumar’s court on Friday, while hearing Jaynagar police station case number 08/21 ST number 119/21, accused Sanjay Kumar alias Bablu Rai and Jitendra Kumar Singh under section 25( 1A) )/35 and sentenced to seven years each after being found guilty in the Arms Act. Along with this, a financial fine of Rs 10-10 thousand has also been imposed on both the culprits. In case of non-payment of the fine, both will have to undergo additional imprisonment for one year each. Apart from this, being found guilty under section 26(2)/35, has been sentenced to seven years each. Both the sentences will run concurrently. During the hearing in the court, Public Prosecutor PK Mandal from the prosecution side got all the witnesses examined and demanded the harshest punishment from the honorable court for the accused. At the same time, advocate Sanjay Pandey presented arguments from the defense side. The Hon’ble Court, after hearing the arguments of both the parties and perusing the evidence on record, found the accused guilty and awarded punishment and fine.
