Luna was India’s first hybrid ride

Let us tell you that in the year 1972, Kinetic Engineering had launched the Kinetic Luna Moped. Designed for city riding, Luna emerged as a light-weight and easy-to-maneuver moped. It featured a compact engine, automatic transmission and bicycle pedals to meet the everyday needs of city dwellers. After the petrol runs out, you can ride it like a bicycle to reach your destination. That is why it is also called the country’s first hybrid ride.

Luna’s Design

The Kinetic Luna notably includes an auto choke system, which simplifies the startup process of the vehicle. Apart from this, it had the facility of variomatic transmission. This was a pioneering advancement, removing the need for manual gear shifting. Kinetic Luna quickly gained widespread popularity due to its exceptional fuel efficiency, affordability and customer-friendly design, thereby establishing itself as a preferred choice among consumers.
