Ranchi: The 37th convocation of Ranchi University is being held on March 15 (Friday). Governor cum Chancellor CP Radhakrishnan will be the chief guest and Union Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda will be the special guest in the program to be held at the Convocation Pavilion in Morabadi from 11 am. Regarding the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, DSW, Controller of Examinations, Multipurpose Exam Hall Director and other officials, Deans, Heads of Departments rehearsed the procession and sitting plan till late Thursday night.
Before this, the Vice Chancellor also held a review meeting with the committee formed for the function. Till late night the Vice Chancellor also put his signature on the degrees being given to the students. A total of 76 gold medals will be distributed in the ceremony. There are 61 gold medals for toppers in various subjects and 15 sponsored gold medals. Of the 61 gold medalists, 41 are girls. But only 57 gold medal winning students have received uniforms and gate passes.
Whereas out of 4043 registered students, degrees will be distributed among 3850 students. 106 will be given PhD degree. Apart from this, there are 30 students of MPhil, 630 of MSc, 649 of MCom, 152 of MBA, 50 of MCA, 14 of LLM, 39 of MD, 10 of MS, 40 of M.Ed and 2262 students of MA.
Uniforms and gate passes distributed till 5.30 pm
The distribution of body clothes and gate passes was done by Ranchi University from the Basic Science Building campus till 5.30 pm. A total of 1124 students received uniforms and gate passes on the last day. A total of 3850 students received uniforms and gate passes in three days. Pass for volunteers was distributed from Multipurpose Hall. On the last day, 19 PhD, 14 MPhil, Gold Medal 15, MBA 40, MD 6, MS 5, M.Ed 13, MCA 13, MCom 128 and 757 MA students took the uniform and gate pass.
