Tamil Nadu: Udhayanidhi Stalin, son of Tamil Nadu Minister and Chief Minister MK Stalin, has given a statement on Saturday that has trapped him. Now where on one hand the BJP leaders have started protesting, on the other hand the reactions of many other followers of Sanatan Dharma are also coming to the fore. Udhayanidhi Stalin on Saturday said that Sanatana Dharma is against the idea of social justice and should be “eradicated”.
Sanatan Dharma compared to dengue and malaria!
According to media agencies, Stalin compared Sanatan Dharma with diseases like dengue and malaria, which has been strongly criticized by BJP leaders. “Sanatan is like malaria and dengue and hence it should be eradicated and not opposed,” he said as quoted by news agency ANI. These comments sparked a massive reaction on social media with many demanding a case be registered against the Tamil Nadu minister.
“It’s nothing less than a massacre”, says BJP
On the remarks of Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawalla said that it is no less than a massacre and it has been supported by Congress party’s Karti Chidambaram. This is a long pattern of ‘Sanatan protest’…” At the same time, Congress leader Nana Patole has distanced the party from Stalin’s remarks. The Tamil Nadu minister argued that the idea is inherently regressive, divides people on the basis of caste and gender and fundamentally opposes equality and social justice.

Responding to Amit Malviya’s tweet, Udhayanidhi Stalin wrote, “I never called for genocide of people following Sanatan Dharma. Sanatan Dharma is a principle that divides people in the name of caste and religion. Sanatan To uproot religion is to uphold humanity and human equality. I stand firmly by every word I said. I spoke on behalf of the oppressed and marginalized people who are suffering because of Sanatan Dharma.”
Accused of repeating the ideas of Christian missionaries
BJP state president K Annamalai accused Udhayanidhi Stalin and Chief Minister MK Stalin of repeating the views of Christian missionaries. Annamalai wrote on X, ‘The only resolution of the Gopalapuram family is to accumulate wealth beyond the state GDP.
